Electric Avenue Guitar was an accident child. Scratch that- too harsh. Let’s call it an unexpected birth.
Guitar had been my great big love in life since age 15, SRV and EVH being the impetuses behind my picking the instrument up initially. From 16-on, I’d become a full-fledged gearhead, funnelling every cent I came into, into gear- mostly pedals at the time, as they were most affordable, relatively. Amps and guitars back then came mostly via the charity of my supremely supportive parents. By my early-20’s, I’d amassed a significant roster of pedals, and was able to trade-up into my first vintage guitar; an Olympic White 1960 Jazzmaster, sadly no longer with me, but that’s what, in a way, started this.
Guitar was my love, photography, my vocation. I’d been working for some years as a professional fashion and portrait photographer, and from time to time would post guitar-related content on my social media page, which people followed strictly for my “work”. I noticed anytime I’d post up anything six-string-related, I’d lose followers. And so it occurred to me, to purely for fun, launch a separate page dedicated to guitars: Electric Avenue Guitar. That’s how it started. I never would’ve imagined at the onset that I’d dedicate so much time to photographing guitars, but it’s proven to be a great source of joy for me. Also, as a small-scale business venture, it’s allowed me to buy/sell/trade/try all sorts of awesome guitars, having a great deal of fun along the way doing so.
My plans are to turn this into a multi-media platform featuring artist interviews, builder profiles, gear reviews, demos, and, of course, a small, carefully curated, marketplace of gear I have a personal interest in- often cool, quirky, rare, and vintage. Above all else, this is one big passion project for yours truly- I just love guitars so much.
So stay tuned and watch it unfold!
